With the arrest of Roberto Lima

It appears that there are several tragedies here. The first is the loss of a life. The second is the loss of civil rights; the third is the personal and emotional damage to Roberto lima. The forth is the embarrassment to the city that has more than its share of bad press.

I would accept this as an honest mistake if the comments were made by a rookie officer. But for such racial, rude, offensive and possible illegal remarks coming from such a high ranking officer is something that just can not go unnoticed.

I have been a huge supporter of the mayor and I commend the work he and his staff is doing. But I am not one to sit back and let personal relationships get in the way of business. Mr. Mayor. Please do something about this !!!!!

Recently I myself was harassed by a police officer right in front of my store. He raised his voice at me, belittled me and told me that “I go ahead, report me, I aint afraid of you, you ain’t gonna threaten me”.

I have been in the east ward since 1982, and I am fed up with the attitude and sarcastic behavior of the FEW police that ruin it for the rest of the good ones.

Recently the appointment of Chief Campos , gave me the hope that we can and will see a kinder more friendly police force as well as a more organized one.

I was a huge advocate of the appointment of Campos. Mr. Campos , please do something about this problem !!!!

I am now calling on all citizens to call the mayors office and Chief Campos to ask for the resignation of Mr. Demao .

This is a community built on immigrants, and without the blend of the ethnic groups, the east ward would not be what it is today. We need to encourage people to come here to live and shop. Not scare them away.  If the community divides from the police and is afraid to get involved, this can become a dangerous situation, we need the eyes and ears on the streets to help the police with their already difficult job.
