1 MIRACLES

MIRACLES FROM HEAVEN ****

“Faith is the only true shelter.”

When Jesus walked on Earth, considering all the suffering, he encouraged His followers to remain strong and loyal, because despite the uneasiness, once you believe it, a victorious reward will follow. The task of enduring pain and suffering might sound unbearable, and obviously many things remain without answers, but the Bible brings examples of perseverance even though when things seemed impossible to the point where these characters claimed God to take their lives away. Little 10-year-old Anna does that, just like any other human being running out of strength; as she lays in the Hospital bed, agonizing in pain, she claims for an ending but then, the Creator empowers her and confirms His job to glorify the power of faith through her is not complete yet. Anna suffers from a rare intestine disorder and is running out of time and out of hope, but her faith is bigger than anyone else’s including her own family; her Christian-devoted parents start to fade away from God, as they find no solution for her tragic illness; her mother is incredible determined to find answers and advanced treatment, capable of fighting her way in to provide her the best medical healing choices possible. The father is a veterinarian and money is also a big problem, as they must provide for the other two daughters, maintain the animals and afford the expensive trips, medication, doctors and treatment in order to save the little girl. Anna watches her family’s despair and loss of faith, but she recognizes His mysterious ways, depositing her trust on the “Doctor of the Doctors”, noting she isn’t afraid of dying, as she quotes in the Hospital, allowing a girl to have her necklace-crucifix “you shouldn’t fear it…He is always with you.” And then, God with All His Majesty and elaborated forms of shaping people’s Faith, gives the family an unforgettable opportunity to renovate their relationship and find the true shelter. Based on the real story of the Beam Family, the religious folks from Texas, after their story became notorious when little Anna fell into their home tree, the difficult process of rescuing her and the amazing consequences, Patricia Riggen’s film is an inspiring story about the power of Faith, our dependence on God, His caring love and protection for us, and the mysterious ways He works to get us closer to Him. It’s also a sad and painful story that depicts these sorts of human problems we don’t understand, especially when it affects children, but its greatest intention is to lift-up the spirit, touching the consciousness and the soul, as we investigate our Faith and find a way of reaffirming it with the example of Anna, a warrior whose battle was a true motivation to never give up on the wait and hope of a Eternal Crown. Don’t Miss it!

2 THE YOUNG MESSIAH

THE YOUNG MESSIAH ***

Director Cyrus Nowrasteh imagines the childhood of Jesus, his final days in Egypt and the journey back to Jerusalem after hiding from the murderous king. Despite none of the events are confirmed or narrated by the Bible, the story doesn’t have anything to offend, and portraits an adorable 7-year-old Jesus (played by Adam Greaves-Neal) performing miracles, healing the ill, and also bringing people back to life, while escaping from a Roman soldier and trying to understand His role in the world. This Easter weekend, confirm your Faith with the inspiring story of Jesus, the Savior of Humanity.
