In the 16th century, the North-American lands already harbored European pioneers. But only in the next century, XVII, a first immigration wave arrived on American territory trying to escape from religious persecution, political changes and economic crisis, a tremendous situation happening all over Europe back then. Looking through this important fact, the United States’ history would be the World’s history.
A research conceived in 2015 by Pew Research Center Institute, and disclosed by the newspaper U.S.A Today shows some curious statistics. It showed the population of immigrants living in the U.S.A corresponded to 13,7% of the entire Nation’s population. In 2013, the undocumented immigrants number came about 11,5 million, according to American government sources. Now, the entire country is experiencing drastic challenges, and living under certain emotional instability. Fear feels constantly present, on a daily basis, seen in many eyes.
‘’Get out of my country’’ was the phrase uttered by Adam W. Purinton, on February 25, 2017, moments before shooting the engineer of Indian origin, Srinivas Kuchibhotla, fatally taken to death. The insecurity acquires the space that belonged to freedom. At different levels we are all affected. We have to be united, we have to love more and we have to take care of each other.
