Gathering some of the most authentic choreographers, the phenomenal Hubbard Street Dance Chicago returns to The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue 19th Street, performing March 25-30. The special and exciting week-long engagement will feature a variety of their enthusiastic repertory including “Black Milk” by Ohad Naharin, and three New York premieres: “Into Being” by FLOCK, “A Duo” by HSDC Resident Artist Aszure Barton, and Johan Inger’s “Impasse”. Now in its 54th edition, the annual New Directors/New Films Festival returns April 2-13 featuring screenings at both Film at Lincoln Center (165 West 65th Street) and MoMA (11 West 53rd Street). Presenting some of the most promising filmmakers from around the globe (Spielberg, Almodovar and Spike Lee are among those who had their first films screened there), the 2025 edition will screen 24 features and 9 shorts, most of them Premieres. The highlights include Opening Niht selection octogenarian drama “Familiar Touch”, India’s Sundance winner “Cactus Pears” and the German comedy “Sad Jokes”. Directors will be in attendance for Q&A’s.
