Roger Costa– The annual Chicago International Film Festival will kick off its 61st edition on October 15th with the Premiere of “One Golden Summer”, an eye-opening documentary tracking the cheating allegations of Chicago Little League.
Among the highlights, new projects from emerging international stars and established Hollywood celebrities are part of the incredible and diverse line-up which includes Wagner Moura (Cannes award-winning and Brazil’s Official entry for the Oscars, “The Secret Agent”) and Elizabeth Olsen (Closing night selection “Eternity”, a romantic comedy about spirituality). Oscar winner actor Brendan Fraser is also on the spotlight with his latest film, “Rental Family”. The film is earning him some Awards buzz and explores the complexities of modern families.
Arthouse lovers will have a feast as well with the Dardenne Brothers’ latest film, “Young Mothers”, Romanian provocateur Radu Jude’s “Dracula” and American iconic director Kelly Reichardt’s “The Mastermind”.
Considered the festival that shapes up the award-season, especially presenting the most anticipated International titles, CIFF is among the longest running film festivals in the country.
