Marking its 11th season in NYC, the electrifying Havana-based Malpaso Dance Company returns to The Joyce Theater (175 Eighth Avenue, 19th Street) featuring a dynamic program that reflects on the power and influence of contemporary Cuban dance. Founded by Daile Carrazana, Osnel Delgado, and Fernando Sáez, Malpaso is celebrated for its bold takes on movements, delivering impressive techniques while fully committed to represent Cuban culture.

The company will present “Dark Meadow Suite” in celebration of the GRAHAM100 project, which makes history as the first Cuban dance company to ever stage Martha Graham’s work. The program also includes “The Season”, a new work by co-founder Carrazana created alongside Keerati Jinakunwiphat. Accompanied by live music by the all-Cuban women group Alma String Quartet and trumpeter Adam O’Farrill and his Stranger Days quartet. Performing February 10th thru 15th. Tickets start at $17. @Jazz at Lincoln Center

The great singer Diane Reeves is returning to the elegant Rose Theater at Jazz at Lincoln Center (60th Street and Broadway at Columbus Circle) for a special two-night Valentine’s celebration on Friday and Saturday, February 13th and 17th at 7:30pm. The multiple Grammy winner is one of a kind with her powerhouse voice and luminous stage presence. The program features her new songs, storytelling, as well as traditional tunes, jazz and blues, exploring the many facets of love and the deeply emotional connection of music and passion. A powerful spectacle blending traditional and contemporary tango, and exploring human desire through dance, “Tango After Dark” brings International tango superstars and World Champions Germán Cornejo and Gisela Galeassi, along with a cast of eight dancers, performing the most passionate tango show ever. Marking its New Jersey debut at NJPAC (1 Center Street, Newark), it features live music set to the revolutionary compositions of Astor Piazzolla, the show is a top-quality production perfectly capturing the bold, seductive rhythms of Buenos Aires. Cornejo’s innovative choreography fuses traditional tango with a contemporary boost, embodying the raw passion and precision that enchant audiences all over the globe. The boldest and most innovative festival of documentaries in the USA returns to MoMA (11 West 53rd Street) from February 26th thru March 12th. Now in its 25th edition, the annual “Doc Fortnight 2026- MoMA’s Festival of International Nonfiction Film and Media” will present 14 features and 19 shorts spanning productions from 23 countries. The festival opens with Aaron Brookner and Rodrigo Areias’s “Nova ’78”, a journey into the heart of 1970s counterculture, and will close with Sofia Coppola’s highly anticipated “Marc by Sofia”, exploring the creative process of Marc Jacobs and his singular friendship. Other highlights include “Daughter of Nectar” directed by Taiwanese duo Pang-Chuan Huang and Chunni Lin, “Face to Face”, the first doc by Uruguayan auteur Federico Veiroj, and “The Seasons” by Portuguese emerging filmmaker Maureen Fazendeiro, which tracks the expedition of German archeologists who first studied the Alentejo’s region. As part of the Jazz Series, Miller Theatre at Columbia University (2960 Broadway at 116th Street) presents the masterful duo John Medeski and Kirk Knuffke in a collaboration titled “The Angelic Brothers”. Legendary keyboardist John Medeski and acclaimed cornetist Kirk Knuffke join forces as The Angelic Brothers, a masterful collaboration that mixes jazz, experimental sounds, and improvisation—drawing inspiration from the visionary work of the Sun Ra Arkestra. Marking their debut at the Miller, the show promises an electrifying fusion of craft and invention. Saturday, February 7th at 7:30pm. Tickets start at $30.
