“LES COQUILLETTES” ****

It’s not only at the world of rock music where the wild parties take place, crowded with eccentric figures and youngsters in love. It sounds unusual but film festivals are also a place of rave, love affairs, complicated encounters and a chance of persuading a dream.

NEW ARGENTINIAN CINEMA

Santiago Loza’s drama “LA PAZ” is a hard yet touching tale about a young man trying to reconnect with society after leaving a clinic where he was treated for his madman behavior. His efforts to find forgiveness and motivation among family and women are the aspects of his journey. Lisandro Rodriguez gives a fine performance as the protagonist, with his sad expressions, and the figure of a lost soul in search of shelter, looking everywhere for a chance to survive his insecurity: stalking his ex-girl, exploring the perspectives of his Bolivian maid, listening to stories told by his parents and the advises of his grandmother, with whom he strolls around the most beautiful points in the city. A strong and coherent study of a man facing discouragement. While here the character struggles for a meaning to keep moving on with all the benefits of middle class, in Gustavo Trivino’s directorial debut “FROM TUESDAY TO TUESDAY” the protagonist is struggling just to survive the urbane jungle of capitalism, working double shifts, enduring humiliation, and facing the lack of time for his family. As the quiet bodybuilder who dreams of opening his own gym, and is caught up with a dilemma of what’s right or wrong, when he witnesses a sex crime, Pablo Pinto delivers a fierce incorporation developing a charisma for his strong appearance and soft heart.
