Rooftop Films is celebrating 20 years with a prestigious line-up of the most anticipated independent films of the year, some coming straight out of award-buzz from Sundance and other Festivals. Last Friday, Chad Hartigan&#8217;s &#8220;Morris From America&#8221; premiered to NY Audiences, as the feature presentation of the night. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23974\" src=\"http:\/\/www.brazilianpress.com\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/morris-from-america-cinema-1.jpg\" alt=\"morris from america cinema (1)\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.brazilianpress.com\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/morris-from-america-cinema-1.jpg 500w, https:\/\/www.brazilianpress.com\/v1\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/morris-from-america-cinema-1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Funny, heart-warming and very perceptive, the coming-of-age story of a boy who dreams of being a rapper, among other teen desires, is poised to crowd-please audiences (and the award season) as it will be released on August 19th. The event was held at the elegant and cozy buildings of Industry City with a pre-party sponsored by Stella Artois. As part of the program, the artist\/singer TK The Architect performed live songs of his latest album &#8220;Blue Season&#8221; before the film rolled at sunset. Rooftop Films is one of New York&#8217;s essential summer activities, and for 20 years has been offering New Yorkers and movie lovers in the area the unique experience of watching anticipated films in a fresh, original and different atmosphere. Among the next highlights in the schedule are: the premiere of &#8220;White Girl&#8221; at The Bushwick Generator in Brooklyn, with the participation of director Elizabeth Wood, on Thursday, August 11th and the much-awaited presentation of Best Actor SXSW winner &#8220;Hunter Gatherer&#8221; with director Josh Locy and award-winning star Andre Royo (&#8220;The Wire&#8221;, &#8220;Empire&#8221;) in attendance on Friday, August 12th at Industry City in Brooklyn. Both events start around 8pm with Live Music, followed by film screening, conversation with stars and after-party with free beers by Stella Artois. All included with the admission of $15.
