Best Film nominees include<em>Frantz <\/em>(eleven nominations), <em>Slack Bay<\/em>(nine nominations), Nicole Garcia\u2019s Marion Cotillard showcase <em>From the Land of the Moon<\/em> (eight nominations), and Justine Triet\u2019soffbeat rom-com<em>In Bed with Victoria<\/em>(five nominations). In addition, Emmanuelle Bercot\u2019s gripping real-life drama<em>150 Milligrams<\/em>, withSidseBabett Knudsen as adoctor who challenged the French pharmaceutical industry,received nominations for adapted screenplay and Best Actress; up-and-coming filmmaker Stephanie de Giusto was nominated for Best First Film for <em>The Dancer, <\/em>which stars Soko as modern dance icon Lo\u00efe Fuller and Lily-Rose Deppas Isadora Duncan (both nominated); and additional nominations went to S\u00e9bastien Marnier\u2019s <em>Faultless<\/em>, KatellQuill\u00e9v\u00e9r\u00e9\u2019s<em>Heal the Living<\/em>, S\u00f3lveigAnspach\u2019s<em>The Together Project<\/em>, and Salle\u2019s<em>The Odyssey<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Filmmakers and talent who will be in attendance at this year\u2019s festival include, in alphabetical order: Emmanuelle Bercot, Bertrand Bonello, \u00c9tienne Comar, Caroline Deruas, St\u00e9phanie Di Giusto, Julia Ducournau, Marc Fitoussi, Marina Fo\u00efs, C\u00e9cile de France, Nicole Garcia, Christophe Honor\u00e9, RedaKateb,S\u00e9bastien Marnier,Fran\u00e7ois Ozon, Antonin Peretjatko, KatellQuill\u00e9v\u00e9r\u00e9, J\u00e9r\u00f4me Salle, Justin Taurand, Justine Triet, Martin Wheeler, and Rebecca Zlotowski.<\/p>\n<p>The 2017 edition of Rendez-Vous also features a number of special events, headlined by an intimate discussion withAgn\u00e8sVarda on March 10 and a free public screening of an episode of the hit French TV series <em>Call My Agent!<\/em>on March 11.Free talkswill includea panel on the many ways that film can function as political intervention;a conversation with French and American filmproducers about international co-producing; and the festival\u2019s annual panel featuring FrenchTouch musicians and film composers.
