One of the world\u2019s leading Flamenco companies, Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana will present an effervescent and extraordinary four-sets program featuring some of the greatest artists from all over the world. Entitled \u201cVentanas\u201d, the live performances program will run virtually December 10th<\/sup> thru 20th<\/sup> helmed by Artistic Director Carlota Santana and Executive Director Hanaah Bates. The ensemble performing companies include Sinton\u00eda, Emilio Ochando y Compa\u00f1\u00eda, Compa\u00f1\u00eda Guadalupe Torres, and Compa\u00f1\u00eda Isaac Tovar, offering four different imaginative choreographies, demonstrating their trans-generational perspectives.<\/p>\n

Sinton\u00eda will perform \u201cTattooed\u201d, an experimental flamenco dance performance about survivors\u2019 strength and resilience; Cl\u00e1sica Tradici\u00f3n <\/em>By Emilio Ochando y Compa\u00f1\u00eda is an autobiographical journey bringing together tradition and the vanguard through dance and music; Compa\u00f1\u00eda Guadalupe Torres performs \u201cAcu\u00e9rdate<\/em>\u00a0Cuando Entonces\u201d, an homage to Flamenco roots;<\/em> and Compa\u00f1\u00eda Isaac Tovar will bring \u201cA\u00f1ejo<\/em>\u201d an open, living, evolving spectacle about nostalgia and the essence of dance.<\/p>\n

A contagiously sensual and explosive dance, Flamenco transports its lovers to a world filled with beauty, energy, passion and heat. The program also features rare access to masterclasses with two top artists, Jes\u00fas Carmona and Patricia Guerrero.<\/p>\n

Rennie Harris,\u00a0one of America\u2019s most brilliant and celebrated choreographers, shares three works by his company Rennie Harris Puremovement:\u00a0Soul Maggot, inspired by Michael Hampton\u2019s guitar solo in the Funkadelic\u2019s song \u201cMaggot Brain,\u201d; a reworking of an acclaimed 1995 work,\u00a0A Day in the Life, set to the voice of Dhafer Youssef and performed by Kai Rapelay and Phil Cuttino; and\u00a0Black Promises, a partner piece to\u00a0A Day in the Life\u00a0and created\u00a0by the company\u2019s apprentice Kai Rapelay.<\/p>\n
