Marking its American premiere and based on the poetry of master Chinese poet Su Dongpo, “Dongpo: Life in Poems” is the new, remarkably poetic and deeply engaged modern dance show choreographed by Shen Wei. Wei is well-known for creating the opening ceremony for the Beijing Olympics, and founded his own company in 2000. Performing at Lincoln Center’s David Koch Theater, March 15 thru 17, the show is coming fresh off Shanghai, where it premiered last fall, to tell a deeply sensitive and meditative story thru modern ballet.
