In all his films, he demonstrated an exclusive interest in examining disturbing characters dealing with their own madness, through their human instincts and the natural rules of existence. In his first major investment on the competitive Blockbuster arena of Hollywood mega-productions, Aronofsky dares to distort the Biblical story and its accuracy and meaning to a convenient product of entertainment. This is the first worst film of the year, a disgusting tale of madness that should be avoided. My point is that there’s an awareness of instructions for everything in life including in entertainment. Hollywood reinvented cinema with its Spectacular productions and that’s the reason why we have Super-Heroes, Fairy Tales, Novels, and historical figures whom we learned to admire. So, if there’s so much to explore and with truthfulness to the sources, why is Hollywood trying to sell films inspired on the Bible, but in fact the results are just its own mega-crazy-robotic idea of it? I wonder if there was a Scientology finance added to that. As the great man he was, Noah followed God’s orders and tried to rescue people from perdition, but was the only family who survived the Great Flood. Here he’s depicted with resemblances of some of Aronosfsky’s previous characters, a man into madness determined to exterminate the human race, which is a disrespectful turn of blasphemy, including when Noah gets more credit for saving the human race eventually, putting God apart, as kind of a villain. It’s an extreme aversion, a terrible experience that made me feel like vomiting. I just hope Hollywood will listen to those who preserve the Importance and Supremacy of the Holy Book, preserving the Sacred content, as I hope to bring up an important matter: as the Bible reading was taken away from schools, and with so much going on out there, it’s afflicting to imagine what kind of reaction kids will have as they become aware of this character through the sparkling poisons of the industry of dreams. One to avoid!

DVD: FORGETTING THE GIRL

In director Nate Taylor’s debut, a mysterious photographer is dealing with his insecurities and loneliness, obsessing about the gorgeous women he flashes. Since its opening we learn the storyline will be centered in this aspect he develops toward these models and the tension underlining the narrative points to a crime mystery. Taylor shows efficiency as he discusses modern issues, even on heavy ones such as suicidal tendencies and sadism, with a dark sense of humor. As Kevin (Christopher Denham), narrates the story, describing every detail on the women he dates, and how they eventually disappear, the script adds chilling twists and other interesting characters, a grandmother, and the make-up stylist who works with him and steals every scene she’s in, making it an accurate and intensely sensuous must-see film.
