A gripping, dramatically ambiguous and atmospheric science-fiction directed by Reed Morano, “I Think We’re Alone Now” hits theaters this Friday, September 14th, bringing a new vision on Apocalyptic themes such as destruction, extinction and human relations and their quality of life. Starring internationally-famous Elle Fanning, one of the best actresses of her generation, and multiple Award-winning indie favorite Peter Dinklage, it opens with an impressive, enhanced shot over a deserted town, where one single man reigns in complete solitude, while everyone else seems to be gone, or dead. He spends his time at the library where he used to work, reading and watching silent films, and also constantly burying all the dead bodies he finds around.

When a young girl crashes her car nearby, he rescues her and while developing a tender, complex companionship, he learns of outside facts he hadn’t imagined. An acclaimed cinematographer (she shot the Oscar nominee hit “Frozen River” among other 50 works) Morano, here on her sophomore directorial effort, really understands of visual techniques and sometimes the stylish imagery tells much more than words. Supported by the precise vulnerability and chemistry of its duo, Morano crafts an enigmatic puzzle about desolation and loneliness using the end of the world (or the end of existence) as a main conductor. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, it’s a visually striking Gothic love-story, an accurate and refreshing take on the genre with satisfying twists.

(A Momentum Pictures Release. Opens Friday September 14th exclusively at Quad Cinema, 34 West 13th Street, New York City. Director Reed Morano, producer Fred Berger and screenwriter Mike Makowsky in person for Q&A sessions on Friday and Saturday.)
