Renowned company Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns to New York City Center (131 West 53rd Street) for their annual Holidays season, December 3rd thru January 4, 2026.

Formed by fabulous and athletic dancers and honoring the legacy of its founder Alvin Ailey, and Artistic Director Judith Jamison, this season’s highlights include the Premieres of Fredrick Earl Mosley’s “Embrace” exploring human relationships, Maija García’s “Jazz Island” inspired by Afro-Caribbean folktales and Jamar Roberts’ “Song of the Anchorite”, which reimagines Alvin Ailey’s 1961 ballet Hermit Songs. Revivals include “Cry”, the sensual duet “A Case of You”, and “Grace”. Audiences’ darling and trademark of the company, “Revelations” rounds up all programs, celebrating the spirit of the Holidays. Commissioned by the Miller Theater at Columbia University, the extraordinary Tallis Scholars will perform their annual holiday program at Church of St. Mary the Virgin (145 West 46th St., NYC). “Mother and Child” celebrates the Virgin Mary and features works by all-English composers—from Renaissance masters Byrd and Tallis to a world premiere by Matthew Martin. @Film at Lincoln Center

The wait is over! The most anticipated Brazilian film of the year finally arrives in New York City and its star is appearing at selected screenings. “The Secret Agent” became one of Brazil’s most popular and praised films ever after winning two major prizes at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. The political thriller earned the prizes for Best Actor and Best Director, sending star Wagner Moura and auteur Kleber Mendonca Filho into cinematic frenzy and potential awards recognition. A NEON Release, the film opens at Film at Lincoln Center and Angelika Film Center on Wednesday, November 26 (check their website for complete list of screenings and appearances). “Less Is Morbid: Arthur Jafa” reunites some of the artist’s most influential pieces. A former architect and cinematographer, he found acclaim with his collages, montages, assemblages, and installations. As part of MoMA’s Artist’s Choice series—Jafa has selected over 80 objects from the Museum’s collection to represent association, influence and artistic relationships. He finds connections between random works by Jean-Michel Basquiat and Cy Twombly; Lygia Clark, Roy DeCarava, Kase2, and Ming Smith; Piet Mondrian and Lutisha Pettway.
