@Film at Lincoln Center

Renowned Korean auteur Hong Sangsoo’s latest existentialist comedy opens Friday, February 27th via Cinema Guild exclusively at Film at Lincoln Center, 165 65th Street, Broadway. “What Does That Nature Say To You” is a gentle, delightfully sharp and satirical take on social classes and the boundaries between Millennials and in-laws, free-spirited minds and conservatives, all seen through the perspective of a young poet who becomes an unlikely guest at his girlfriend’s parent’s estate during an unexpected introduction. It premiered in Berlin and made its US debut at New York Film Festival. Tickets $19. INFO: https://www.filmlinc.org/films/what-does-that-nature/

@The Joyce Theater

The Joyce Theater presents the debut of choreographer Noé Soulier with “The Waves”, receiving its U.S. premiere for two performances only, March 4–5.  Drawing inspiration from Virginia Woolf’s landmark modernist novel, The Waves unfolds as a richly immersive choreographic and musical composition by choreographer Noé Soulier that heightens perception and sensation. Rooted in the exploration of physical memory and attention, the work invites audiences to experience movement as a continuous flow of impulses, rhythms, and shifting intensities, where gestures emerge, dissolve, and reconfigure in real time. Six dancers share the stage with two live percussionists, Tom de Cock and Gerrit Nulens, whose intricate, driving score shapes the work’s momentum and phrasing, creating a vivid dialogue between sound and motion. The result is a mesmerizing, multisensory experience that blurs the boundaries between dance and music, body and environment, echoing the visceral power and emotional resonance of Woolf’s writing. The Joyce Theater is located at 175 Eighth Avenue at West 19th Street. Tickets start at $17. INFO:  https://www.joyce.org/performances/noe-soulier-ywql
