After the success of the Pride series and the positive response from moviegoers, Quad Cinema (34 West 13th Street) kicks off another celebration of popular cinema with “Drenched: Sweaty and Sunkissed Cinema”. Curated by the Quad’s staff and programming team and featuring 10 films set on hot, sweaty summer days, the series invite the audience to get drenched with a variety of entertaining (and some very sexy) titles.
Marlon Brando will definitely set the screen on fire next to Vivien Leigh in the irresistible “A Streetcar Named Desire”, which will be playing in multiple days, while Alain Delon plays the infamous sociopath Tom Ripley in 1960’s “Purple Noon”. Other titles include Al Pacino-starring “Dog Day Afternoon” and Spike Lee’s “Crooklyn” which he wrote and directed alongside his siblings. Tickets $17. The amazing community summer event Summer for the City presented by Lincoln Center wraps up its 2025 season this weekend and Latin music will lead the farewell with an unforgettable vibe. Returning to Lincoln Center for its second year, Ruidosa Fest, the first female-led music festival from Latin America, will take place on Saturday, August 9, 2025. Featuring a diverse line up of emerging artists, this free festival, was founded by acclaimed singer-songwriter Francisca Valenzuela, and celebrates the voices of female Latin artists.
Music will heat up the cultural center of New York with the rapper Snow Tha Product, Dominican rapper and singer J Noa, vocalist PAMÉ, radiant Mexican singer Camila Fernández, GRAMMY nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Sofía Rei and many others.
