Since its foundation in 1946, Limon Dance Company has been at the center of modern American dance as one of the most inventive companies. Inspiring generations and giving Latin traditions a new style the company will celebrate the 75th anniversary season with a double-bill program at The Joyce Theater, 175 8th Avenue in Manhattan. The 2-week performance will mark the debut of Artistic Director Dante Puleio offering the audience a journey through the company’s past, present and a brief look at what the future holds. On the first week fans will be delighted with the beloved classic “Psalm” and the premiere of “Only One Will Rise”, among others. Grammy winner Mexican pop duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have been creating fascinating, lively music for the past decade with influences that range from flamenco, traditional Mexican styles, rock and Heavy Metal. They grew up listening to the likes of Metallica, and became one of the most accomplished young acoustic guitar duet, making it to the White House where they performed to former President Obama, and gained recognition doing collaborations with Hans Zimmer and others. Their fifth album, “Mettavolution” won the Grammy Award in 2020. They are bringing their energized music to NJPAC, 1 Center Street, Newark, on Friday, April 15th. Tickets $39.-$89. A dark comedy about the American Dream gone wild and the strong bond between two classmates who plot a twisted murder, Emmy nominated Keith Huff’s “Garbageman” will have its Opening Night on Saturday, March 19th and continues performances thru April 16th. The five-week engagement will be held at The Chain Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 4th Floor. The play is directed by Greg Cicchino and stars Kirk Gostkowski as Dan Bandana, and Deven Anderson as Buddy Maple, the other wannabe criminal.
