Two iconic Cuban music stars, Chucho Valdés and Paquito D’Rivera, gather their talents and originality on the stage of The Town Hall, 123 43rd Street, Manhattan, this Saturday, June 10 at 8pm. Making great, sophisticated, moving, dancing music for six decades and counting, the pair are the most renowned Afro-Cuban/Latin Jazz artists in the world, two active forces working their magics in the industry. Friends since their youth, they both served as source of influence for each other and for many contemporary artists. Their reunion will certainly transport us to Havana with their unique, effervescent rhythms. Presented as part of the Blue Note Jazz Festival NY 23. Tickets start at $57. @FATHOM EVENTS

Based on the real events of the special relationship and artistic collaboration between Rabbi Carlbach and singer star Nina Simone, “Soul Doctor” screens via Fathom Events in New Jersey, New York and other areas, exclusively on June 13 at 7pm. The production is signed by Danny Wise as seen on Broadway, and the musical-movie is part of the Juneteenth celebration. In New York audiences can look for it at Regal Cinemas in Union Square, Battery Park, and the AMC at Herald Square, Lincoln Square, Times Square, as well as others. @NORTH 2 SHORE FESTIVAL

The Garden State summer festival held in Atlantic City, Asbury Park and Newark brings music, film, technology, theater and other special, cool events, featuring celebrated artists from the US and other parts of the globe. Among the local highlights, Prudential Center hosts Santana on June 21, Alanis Morisette on the 22nd, NJPAC brings Brazilian star Marisa Monte with her sensational, visually-stunning “Portas” tour on Friday the 23rd, as well as Natalie Merchant singing along an Orchestra on Sunday, June 25th and the Newark Museum of Art presents a special summer dance party celebrating 50 years of Hip Hop as part of their ongoing fun-packed series Art After Dark, (pictured). @THE JOYCE THEATER

Celebrating their 40th anniversary, the sensational Flamenco company, FLAMENCO VIVO CARLOTA SANTANA, returns to The Joyce Theater, 175 Eighth Avenue, right on the corner of 19th Street and 8th Avenue. Featuring “El Cuadragésimo” with live music and under the Artistic Direction of Carlota Santana, they will present their unique blend and classic and contemporary Flameco rhythms and movements, June 13 thru 18. Emilio Ochando signs as stage director, featuring appearances from solo artists María Bermudez, José Maldonado, and Andrés Peña. Tickets start at $10.
