The 2023 edition of the largest and most sensational pop culture convention is taking the city on October 12-15 and they have just announced the lineup of special programs. It features Hulu’s “Futurama” Screening & Panel with Creatives Behind The Show; An expansive conversation surrounding SCAVENGERS REIGN with co-creator Joe Bennett and the team of animators from Green Street Productions set to explore and dive into the creative process that has turned their award-winning animated short into Max’s newest adult animation series. Blumhouse founder and reigning king of horror Jason Blum, the producer of M3GAN, the HALLOWEEEN trilogy and THE BLACK PHONE, reveals exclusive details about the company’s terrifying upcoming films, including FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S, NIGHT SWIM and TOTALLY KILLER. And there is also MARVEL’s  Editor-in-Chief C.B. Cebulski gathers some of the most monumental talent of today – including Gerry Duggan (X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), Jonathan Hickman (G.O.D.S., Ultimate Universe) and Jed MacKay (Avengers, Moon Knight) – to give a behind-the-scenes look at Marvel’s biggest books while peeling back the curtain on the future of the Marvel Universe. Rising Fado star Carminho comes to New Jersey for an exclusive take on her latest album, “Portuguesa”, next October 8th at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in South Orange, NJ. Daughter of the worldwide renowned singer Teresa Siqueira, Carminho is walking the same path of glory and accomplishment, gathering praise for her lush and deeply emotional vocals everywhere she goes. Among Brazilians she became a darling of Fado enthusiasts as she proved her synch with Brazilian roots with the album “Carminho Sings Tom Jobim”. She had delivered other sensational samples of her talent in such traditional yet stylized and modernized musical incursions as “Fado, Alma, Canto” and “Maria”. Presented by NJPAC. Celebrate the rhythms, the legacy, the dance, the colors and culture of Hispanic Heritage with a multi-cultural free event at The Newark Museum of Art this Saturday, September 16 from midday to 5pm. Community Day: Fiesta Latina will host an electrifying roast of Latino Performers, dancers, musicians, artistic exhibitions and DJ’s. Recommended for the whole family, the event will feature a Mariachi Band, a traditional Ecuadorian Folklore Dance Group, Willy Torres Orchestra, Plena Bomba and others. The 35th annual LGBTQ+ NewFest Film Festival returns to New York City October 12-24 shining a light on the issues, the lifestyle, the trends, the discoveries, pleasures and obstacles of the Queer experience. The organizers have just announced the selection for Opening Night, Centerpiece and Closing Night Films, in what looks like a hot season and a main stop during the Award Season. The films are “Rustin” biopic on the aclaimmed activist as the Opener, “Queen of New York” in the Center telling the journey of non-binary drag artist Marti Cummings and “All of Us Strangers” as the Closing Film which is poised to be the queer film Oscar voters won’t resist to its explosion of love and melancholy.
