@Stephanie Mills & The Whispers

Iconic Grammy winner soulful queen Stephanie Mills returns with her sophisticated, smooth voice to confirm her stardom as one of America’s leading vocalists. The upscale show brings her alongside The Whispers, one of R&B long running bands of all time, known for their energy and collaborative work that counts 40 years plus. The Tony Award Winner star of “The Wiz” will certainly enchant everyone especially with the hit “Home” that launched her career. Saturday, January, 13th at 8pm. Tickets $40-$130. After the success of their exuberant production of The Nutcracker a few weeks ago in honor of the Holidays season, The State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, formed by athletic, vigorous and splendid ensemble dancers will grace audiences with their latest production, Cinderella. One of the most popular and inspiring fairy tales in the world, the company has prepared something magical, colorful, and enchanting to narrate the love story and adventure of Cinderella in search of her charming Prince. @Celebrating Max Roach

Contemporary talents gather in celebration of the centennial of Max Roach (1924-2007)—drummer, bebop pioneer and civil rights activist—to revive the revolutionary 1960 album “We Insist!” and its important, timely exploration on social justice, racism, equality and socio-political issues. Led by musical director Nasheet Waits (of Max’s percussion ensemble M’Boom) featuring vocalist Cassandra Wilson, poets Sonia Sanchez and Saul Williams, saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, pianist Nduduzo Makhathini, and bassist Eric Revis. One exclusive and hsitorical musical/poetical reunion to celebrate, inspire and expand elements of freedom and hope for years to come. Friday, January 26th at 8pm. Tickets $39-$79. Grammy nominated band leader Oscar D’Leon is well known for his electrifying yet romantic salsa beats. On February 9th he will take over the stage for a special date night fueled by the best and most dancing rhythms of salsa. This amusing singer and bassist will be joined by emerging sensation Christian Alicea, making it a double dose of romantic chances to shine on your night. At 8pm, Tickets $60-$130. @Valentine’s Day All Star Comedy Show

The annual Valentine’s Comedy Celebration is back at NJPAC with an incredible line-up of stand-up comedy stars, also featured in TV shows, movies and more. A night filled of laughter and romance, it features Luenell, “the hooker with a heart of gold” as seen in “Borat”, as well as “A Star is Born” and “Hotel Transylvania”; Bill Bellami returns as the host proving to be one of America’s most genial comedians; Bronx-born Capone, known as the Gangster of Comedy, and Radio Big Mack, head writer of the Breakfast Club.
